The founder of London-based skate company Palace, Lev Tanju, has teamed up with British art institution Tate to create a series of four skateboard decks. In video, one can witness the entire process of creating the board’s graphics, drawing inspiration from several artwork in Tate Britain.
Daria Endresen is a digital artist and photographer based in Oslo and Paris. Most of the times, she uses herself or her friends as models to her art. She had already exhibited her work in various places in Paris and she is actually trying to make us familiar with her grotesque creations. In the corner of his studio, the artist Kjell Varvin, creates installations using a variety of objects. He takes simple shapes and colors and then transforms them into interesting artifacts by adding photos of sculptures that he has created in a digital form. The Norway based artist says that his works don’t have any kind of symbolism.

Lady Gaga and Marilyn Manson did a photoshoot for the cover of the famous transversal magazine, Candy. The two artists were chosen for their liberal and gay-friendly lifestyle. Gaga, is shot wearing nothing but a fur exposing her genital area, in a Salvador Dali-esque pose- while Μanson is wearing women’s clothes in an act of support towards the magazines transsexual readers κοινό. Bernhard Handdick is a German freelancer photographer and we noticed him because of his mixed media creations. He is a Folkwang University of Arts graduate and he uses his photographs as a canvas so as to paint on them, create collages or to rip them. He is experimenting a lot with the models that he uses and most of the times he tends to photograph them naked or in awkward postures.
Satu Maaranen graduated from Aalto University School of Arts in 2012 and since then has produced amazing creations. Her collections are mainly inspired by nature and the art world. The extreme volumes, and the unique color process she uses as well as the sense of mystery her collections consist of have made her one of the most promising designers. She states that ‘’color is a feeling: sometimes it has a negative and sometimes a positive feeling. This is what I want the viewers to feel.’’ Her collections cannot be categorized easily, due to the fact that her aesthetic balances between urban and comely. The brand Uniforms for the dedicated is a collective of designers, artists and at the same time friends. Back in 2001, 15 people decide to collaborate and do something that will depict their love for fashion, design and art. During 2008 they create Uniforms for the united that is one of the most promising Swedish brands at the moment. The collective apart from making casual chic menswear, supports the brand with installations and music production. What makes them different are the unconventional models used for the brand’s shows and their general cultural perspective. At the Spring/Summer 2014 Collection patterns, the color harmony and their blazers are heavily accentuated.
Collier Schorr is a photographer that can attract your attention through her realistic photos. She usually uses people in their teens or adolescents in their everyday life, not trying at all to make them look beautiful or unique. The American photographer was born in the 60s and studied at the New York’s School of Visual Arts. She has made several exhibitions in USA and Europe and this period you can have a look at her work visiting the website Art+Commerce. Apart from her special editorials, Collier has also been a photography lecturer in several Universities. Her next exhibition will take place at New York’s 303 Gallery from the 27th of February till the 12th of April 2014.
